The George J. Mitchell Before and After School Program is the first nationally accredited School-Aged program in the state of Maine.  Our program is designed to meet the before and after school needs of children K-6.  Our mission is to provide affordable, high quality care for children in a safe and welcome environment, which foster friendships, relaxation, enrichment, and recreational activities.

WHAT WILL THE CHILDREN DO?

PLAY!!  The time that children spend is intended to be FUN and flexible, allowing them to make daily choices regarding their activities while supervised by our trained and professional staff members.  The location of our childcare room provides easy access to the gymnasium, multi-purpose room, stage, computer lab, and the playgrounds, all of which we use on a daily basis.

Jump rope, dress up, board games, and playing pass are a few of the all time favorites.  Children are also offered daily options of participation in special activities such as cooking, arts and crafts, science, and sports.  Homework time is available every day.

NOT TO MENTION…… because of our relationship with community organizations, nursing homes, and local businesses we are able to offer the children in our program even more opportunities for enrichment.
